Elaine Banks Collins was born in Harlem, New York. She is a childcare expert, recipient of the National Council of Negro Women’s Legacy Lady Award, and founder and president of EBC Education Services Inc. Formerly, she was the Associate Director for Sesame Street’s Preschool Education Program. The "Read, Play and Learn Series" was developed to assist parents and educators on how to use literacy as a foundation for children’s learning.

Beverly C. Heath, singer, songwriter, and author was born and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia. Graduating with a degree in Business Administration from Shorter College, Beverly has always pursued creative endeavors. In addition to the books published by OurRainbowPress, she has independently released a music CD entitled "The Word". She lives in Powder Springs, GA with her husband William and two of their five children.

Melanie Mims was raised in Houston, Texas. She is a graduate of Spelman College and is the author of several works of short fiction and poetry. An accomplished musician and author, Melanie resides in Marietta, GA with her husband and two sons.
